THE CASA
Casa Estrellita - The Little Star - is a wonderful place in Andalucia to spend your vacation at. It offers accomodation for up to six. Sitting up in the hills overlooking Lake ViƱuela, it's less than a 60 minute drive from Malaga Airport, less than 30 minutes from the wide beaches of Torre del Mar and 90 minutes from the historic city of Granada.
ACTIVITIES
There's a lot to do around Casa Estrellita. Hikes and bike trips into the mountains of the Axarquia. Day trips to the historic cities of Malaga, Granada, Sevilla, Cordoba or Cadiz. Or may be you just wish to spend a day at the beaches of Torre del Mar or at the private pool, finishing it off with a great BBQ in the sunset.

THE REGION
AXARQUIA
The Axarquia, famous for its beautiful white villages, the winding roads into the mountains of the Parque Natural Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama and its wonderful vistas into the green valleys or over the Mediterranean is an excellent starting point to explore the Moorish history of southern Spain. Even the name is proof of the Moorish heritage, as it stems from Šarqiyya, meaning "eastern part" or "eastern" in Arabic, describing its location as seen from Malaga.
VIĆUELA
Developed around La Venta La ViƱaā, a historic stop at the route from the coast to Granada, ViƱuela was named after the vines that grow in the region. Today it's a quiet village with a few bars, restaurants, shops and a medical center providing basic infrastructure to residents and tourists alike. And grapes still play a role in local economy, as in autumn you can still watch them being harvested to be made into raisins.
TORRE DEL MAR
Torre del Mar is the closest truly touristic spot. Its wide beaches, bars, clubs, and restaurants attract not only foreign tourists, but are popular among the Spanish as well. It's located just 20 minutes from the Casa, easily accessible via A-356 and with plenty of parking at the seafront. The Baviera Golf provides an 18 hole course with nothing left to desire. El Ingenio (the sugar mill) is a serious shopping mall at the outskirts of Torre del Mar, featuring all major fashion and style outlets.
