Puente Don Manuel

Puente Don Manuel is a hamlet located near the bridge of the same name, spanning the Rio de Alcaucin. A crossroads between the coast and the villages of Periana, Alcaucin, and Zafarraya, it has a little bit of history. But in spite of that there's not much to be seen here.

However, with the region becoming popular for expatriates, Puente Don Mañuel developed into a kind of hub for the British community here. A number of urbanisations surrounding the old village are mostly British owned and/or populated.

Accordingly the infrastructure developed. In the new part of the village, along the Zafarraya road (A-402), you'll find a few shops and services covering your daily needs, including a well stocked British "super"market (Arkwrights - up for sale right now, so we are not sure how long it will continue to operate), a hairdresser, several restaurants, and a hardware store.

On A-402, just before the bridge, you'll find the nearest gas station.

On the other side of the bridge (take a right just after the gas station) you'll find more bars and restaurants, including an Indian one. At Mis Tapitas and Bar Atila local bands perform regularly.
